News From Title One Reading:

Parents, please stop by our Title 1 Parent Center.  It is located across from the office entrance.  Here, you will find educational games, activities, books, leap pads, etc. that you may check-out to use at home with your child/children.  These items can make learning fun as you spend quality time together supporting education!  Please seek assistance from the office front desk.  Check It Out! Let's keep reading!!!!!

Don't forget to get you RSVPs sent in by November 8th for our 1st Title 1 Trim the Tree event. This event will be held on November 15, 2018 from 5:30-6:30. Dinner will be provided. We are going to have an awesome time!! Please join us for the enjoyment of reading and creativity.

Family Literacy Events:
To be held at Rustburg Elementary School
Two sessions each evening (Both sessions will include the same information and are being offered for you to choose the one that best suits your schedule).  

Tuesday, November 13th - RES
  • Pre-K -2  "A Busy Family's Guide for Reading & Writing On the Go!"
  • Two sessions- 5:00-6:00pm and 6:30-7:30pm.
  • Grab and Go Dinner will be served
  • Free take home bags of books & materials
Wednesday, November 14th- RES
  • Grades 3-5  "Helping Your Child Become a Lifelong Reader"   
  • Two sessions- 5:00-6:00pm and 6:30-7:30pm. 
  • Grab and Go Dinner will be served

Spring is right around the corner!! What a great way to enjoy the outdoors with your child. Read in the park. Read on the porch. Read in a hammock or even read playing baseball!!! Words and text are all around us. Take an opportunity to read with your child every day, even if it is for a few minutes. Listed below is the link to the title 1 county newsletter. Take a look! There are several activities that you can do with your child at home to keep the reading going.

This will take place before the Spring Musical and PTA Meeting at 6:30. Please join us for a delicious pancake supper which includes pancakes, sausage, juice, and coffee. We appreciate your support of BES and the Claire Parker Foundation, as they support local children, diagnosed with cancer.
