First Grade

Mrs. T. Updike- Hi everyone! This is my 4th year teaching 1st grade at BES! I love it! I’m from Brookneal and now live in Nathalie with my husband and two children, our daughter begins high school this Fall and our son will be in the 7th grade, time flies! We have two sweet pups, Jack and Coby, who are spoiled rotten! In our free time, we enjoy traveling, spending time with friends, and serving at church!

Mrs. M. Davis - Hello! This is my 8th year of teaching first grade at Brookneal! I really enjoy being in the first-grade classroom. My husband and I met at Liberty and have been married for 6 years. We live in Concord with our 2 year old daughter. My husband and I have been serving at our church for 7 years now. I love reading, the color purple, and coffee!

Mrs. H. Owens- Hey all!  This is my 5th year teaching at BES and my third year in first grade! I’m originally from Indiana and now live in Lynchburg, VA, with my husband. When I’m not teaching we love to travel, spend time with our families, go to the lake, and golf.

Mrs. H. Stephens- Hello! This is my first year teaching at Brookneal and I absolutely love it here! I was born and raised in Falls Church, Virginia which is right outside of Washington D.C. I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education from Liberty University and loved my time there! When I'm not teaching, I love to spend time with my family and friends, go hiking, and cook!
