Special Education

Meet the team!

Mrs. Jennings

I have been with Brookneal for 11 years, 4 years as the Adaptive Curriculum teacher! I love what I do, couldn’t imagine myself doing anything different! I am dual licensed, have my Bachelors from WGU in General Education Prek- 6th and Special Education K-12, and my Masters from LU in Adapted Curriculum and Early Childhood Special Education! I’m married to the best man in the world, and have 3 children! My youngest graduates from RHS in May! I am all about inclusion and will advocate to have my students be included in every thing possible! One day, I’d like to be an advocate for special needs students at the state or federal level!!

Mrs. Carwile

Hi! I am Taylor Carwile, a special education teacher at BES! This is my 10th year teaching, But my 7th year at BES- as a teacher! I have lived in Brookneal all of my life and went to BES as a child. I have very fond memories of my time here as a student with such influential teachers, and hope for all students to have their own great experiences here as well. After graduating from William Campbell, I continued my education at Longwood University where I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Liberal Studies: Elementary Education and continued on to receive my Master's degree in Reading, Literacy, and Learning from there as well. I attended University of Phoenix to receive my Special Education endorsement.

Mrs. Jordan

I am in my 13th year teaching at Brookneal Elementary. During my time at BES, I have taught kindergarten, 2nd and 3rd grade, Reading Specialist, and Special Education. I graduated from Lynchburg College with my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Masters in Education: Reading and Special Education. I am passionate about providing kids with opportunities and experiences. I am also excited to be an ambassador for Ag in the Classroom and sharing my passion with our small community though our public school system and Campbell County Public Libraries. I enjoy playing and spending time with my two grandchildren and my fur babies, attending events of my school kids, and of course reading.
